Franco-German giant Aventis SA (AVEP) is near completetion of its animal nutrition business. The business is to go for around 300 million euros ($268 million). Private equity firms Bain Capital and CVC Capital Partners are the frontrunners to acquire Aventis​ Animal Nutrition, the world's second largest supplier of feed additives, the sources reported by Reuters said. Officials at all three companies declined to comment. The nutrition business has a 15 per cent share of the $5 billion-a-year additives market and employs about 1,400 people worldwide. It manufactures vitamins, amino acids and other additives at plants in France, Spain, the United States, China, Russia, Australia and Singapore.
