Nutritional challenges, feed quality issues are set to be addressed farm-by-farm in a new customizable feed platform from Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM).

The program aims to develop individual responses for producers who see or expect feed challenges or want to counter potential intake issues for their livestock, said Reuben Beltran, product manager for ADM Animal Nutrition.

The platform “is used to help mitigate many on-farm stressors that negatively affect a customer’s bottom line,” he said. “In conjunction with existing ADM technologies, it helps support and optimize feed intake when feed quality is potentially compromised.”

It was developed in a partnership with Austrian-based ANCO Animal Nutrition Competence GmbH.

The platform is available to producers in the US, although that coverage is expected to grow, said Beltran. “ADM has a global presence, and we are working to expand its availability in the near future,” he added.

The overall goal of the project is to guide producers in improving livestock health and meeting nutritional goals, he added.

Contamination, palatability...

The feed platform works with individual farmers in the swine, dairy and poultry sectors to assess the specific nutritional challenges arising on their farms, problems arising out of poor grain quality, or issues related to feed palatability, said Beltran. “Customers can work directly with their ADM representative to choose the right product or combination of products that will fit their needs, supporting profitability.”

Grain quality challenges can alter by region and climate, said Beltran. ADM has the ability to identity nutritional stressors present at different facilities and offer supplement plans to address those issues and improve feed intake.

Supplements incorporated into the system include whole-cell yeast product, CitriStim, and several ANCO products like ANCO FIT and ANOC FIT Poutre, which were designed to promote animal health and efficiency.

“ADM is continually searching for strategic business opportunities and the arrangement with ANCO is beneficial to both ADM and ANCO,” Beltran said of the partnership. The new platform has already started to generate customer interest, he added.

ANCO added that the partnership brings them a product distribution line for ANCO FIT items in the US.
