The two organizations said they are in the process of finalizing a joint venture initiative that will combine DLG’s expertise in premix manufacturing with Alltech’s animal nutritional insights.
“We have been in collaborative talks with DLG for the past few months. We are awaiting the go-ahead from the Russian authorities before we can reveal more about the joint venture,” Maeve Desmond, a spokesperson for Alltech, told us.
DLG indicated the deal would exploit technologies to maximize Russian producers’ profitability, increase their competitive advantage and improve their feed efficiency.
Both companies have business operations across Europe. They will hold a 50% share in the joint venture located in Orenburg, south of the Ural Mountains, in Russia.
Alltech said it is pursuing several collaborations in new markets focused on growth. Last March saw Alltech owned aqua feed and nutrition company, Coppens, enter a strategic partnership with long established Brazilian fish feed player, Guabi.
