The school provided a week long series of forums and field sessions on poultry production for Cargill employees.
Cargill operates poultry businesses in Canada, UK, Philippines, Thailand and Central America.
Topics covered in the educational sessions included genetic selection, egg handling, antibiotic-free broiler programs, pullet management and water quality, said Cobb.
The school took place at the end of October at locations in Shanghai and Chuzhou. The organizers said they expect it to become an annual event aimed at sharing knowledge between the two companies.
The event also allowed Cargill employees to hear more about each others’ experiences in poultry production, the company said.
The sessions helped to benchmark the performance of poultry production in Cargill’s different regions, highlighting management practices tailored to specific areas or operations, added Cobb.
