EFSA has launched a public consultation on its draft guidance on the assessment of the efficacy of feed additives.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) said the publication is part of a series of documents intended to assist companies in the preparation and the presentation of their applications for authorization of feed additives, as per 139 Article 7.6 of Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003.

The guidance document specifies what kind of information and data applicants need to include in their dossiers to allow EFSA evaluate the efficacy of the product in question.

The Parma based risk assessor said interested parties are free to submit written comments on the guidelines up until January 28 next year.

The guidelines for commenting and the document are available on the Authority’s site.
