Nutreco declined to comment on the matter to FeedNavigator.
Along with its animal feed entity, Fiod is said to be evaluating the activities of two other SHV divisions, Econosto, and Mammoet.
The SHV group is the largest family-owned company in the Netherlands. It is owned by billionaire family Fentener van Vlissingen. SHV employs 60,000 people in 58 countries and has an annual turnover of €20bn. Nutreco was taken over by SHV three years ago.
Nutreco’s aquaculture operations, Skretting, has been under investigation in Chile since late 2016. The motivation for the enquiry by the Chilean competition agency, Fiscalía Nacional Económica (FNE), is still not clear, but there have been reports of fish feed customers being overcharged.
Fiod has now joined the Chilean authorities in looking into the matter, wrote NRC and DutchNews.
Nutreco confirmed to us at that time a probe by competition officials into the Chilean salmon feed sector was underway. The company's site in Osorno, Chile was visited by the local FNE officials. Nutreco said then it was fully cooperating with the Chilean authorities.
Fiod did not respond to our request for further information ahead of publication.
