“This encyclopedia will, in one book, make this architecture a part of industrial heritage, so that my photographs become historical documents and a reference for a wider audience,” said the Brittany-based artist.
He has documented feed mill buildings in places as far apart as Australia, the US, Japan, Brazil, Turkey, Russia. But he has also worked extensively in Europe, capturing feed mill designs in Poland, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Austria, France, The Netherlands, Italy, the UK, Denmark and in Switzerland as well.
As the encyclopedia will not be published until 2021, he is seeking further commissions. With more than 250 sites photographed around the world to date, Bellec said that international feed mills, regardless of their location, can liaise with him to have a picture of their factory included in the book.
As part of that photo deal, the photographer said a feed company would receive three to five images of its mill for its own use and two copies of the encyclopedia.
Participating mills also have the option to purchase a space within the book for their company logo and to have three to four pages within the encyclopedia with which to describe their professional activities, he added.
For industry players who prefer to buy the encyclopedia only, they can purchase it now and up until January 1, 2020 for 100€ instead of 180€, the price per copy when released.
