Market Trends
For this week, we're sharing insights into Vitamin D3 500, Vitamin E50, Vitamin A1000, and Biotin 2%.
After a downward trend over many months, Glowlit saw a spike in the global price of Vitamin D3 500 in February 2020. The platform’s users have reported an issue with the supply of a key raw material for the production of Vitamin D3 from Europe to China as the culprit and anticipate continued issues with availability that may lead to price volatility in the near future. In the last week alone, Vitamin D3 500 dropped by approximately 6% to $24.9 per kg.
Global spot prices of Vitamin E50 have been trending upwards over the past year with a particularly steep increase in February 2020. In the last week, Vitamin E50 went down by approximately 3% to $8.89 per kg, though there has been no indication of a change in the overall trend.
Supply disruptions in China have halted the decline in the global price of Vitamin A1000. Now that Western production facilities are being impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic, we can expect prices to level out with more minor upward and downward movement. Since last week, Glowlit saw only a slight decline of 3% in the price of Vitamin A1000.
After a consistent increase in the global price of Biotin 2% beginning in the last quarter of 2019, Glowlit saw a rapid increase in February 2020 due to the concentration of production based in China, specifically the Hubei province. Glowlit does not foresee a downward trend in the price for the time being, though some users of the platform are anticipating stabilization.
