The global price of L-Lysine is $1.4 per kg, a 15% decline since the peak in the second week of February 2020.
However, the global price is largely irrelevant given the regulatory action being taken by countries around the world to protect against anti-competitive pricing, said Guy Soreq, founder of the feed additives market intelligence platform, Glowlit.
Several Chinese suppliers are banned from selling lysine in Europe from June 2020 as a result of the 2020 EU lysine re-authorizations, he noted. Meanwhile, Indonesia began an anti-dumping probe in March this year into Chinese supply of lysine into that market, he reported.

Vitamin B5 Calpan
The current global price of Vitamin B5 Calpan is $48.4 per kg, a return to pre-COVID levels that had persisted over the last 12 months after the departure of low-cost suppliers from the market, according to the Israel based market intelligence service.
"Market competition led prices to stay around $10 per kg for a period of six months between May to November, 2018. At that price level several players could not compete and exited," explained Soreq.
