Asbjørn Børsting has been elected the new president of EU feed industry representatives, FEFAC. He takes over the reins from Nick Major.  

He was elected president at FEFAC’s 65th General Assembly, held this week via teleconference. 

A graduate of University of Copenhagen in agricultural economics, Børsting will serve as FEFAC president until 2023. Previously, he was CEO of the Agricultural Council & DLG. He is now director of the Danish Grain and Feed association (DAKOFO). 

He is also chairman of the Danish Bio-Economy Panel.  

“I look forward to representing the interests of European compound feed and premix manufacturers in these challenging times, when the European and global economy are trying to recover from the COVID-19 crisis. 

"I am proud of the resilience shown by our members and value chain partners in providing safe, sustainable and affordable feed to farmers and foodstuffs of animal origin to our consumers,” said Børsting.

FEFAC's assembly also elected a new board. It now consists of the following members:

Edward Harof, a 30-year veteran in the market of international enterprise resource technology (ERP) and customer relation management (CRM), has been hired by Belgium’s Adifo Software.

As senior sales executive, Harof is tasked with growing Adifo’s Microsoft Dynamics 365 – the MILAS and BESTMIX application business - in the US.

Harof is a Florida State University Seminole, IT and CAD/CAM internationally educated sales and marketing graduate.

Adifo develops and supports a line of industry-specific strategic software tools for foodstuffs, feed formulation, recipe management, quality data management, ration calculation, cloud services and ERP.

French biotech company, Deinove, which uses a disruptive approach to develop innovative antibiotics and bio-based active ingredients for animal nutrition and cosmetics, has appointed Alexis Rideau as its new CEO.

Prior to joining Deinove, Rideau was in charge of developing industrial relations and coordinating the strategic partnership team at Bioaster (Lyon/Paris), a technology research institute in applied microbiology solutions for animal and human health.

He holds a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Cambridge in the UK and a European Magistère in Genetics and an MSc in Cellular and Molecular Genetics from the Diderot University and Sorbonne University in Paris, as well as an MBA in International Management from ESCP Europe.

Jebsen & Jessen Ingredients, the ingredients arm of diversified industrial conglomerate, Jebsen & Jessen Group, has announced the appointment of Lim Siew Tin as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

She has over two decades of experience within the group, first joining the company in 1997. She took over from Marc Deschamps who has retired.

Jebsen & Jessen Ingredients promotes and distributes chemical and life science ingredients for multiple industrial and manufacturing applications across Southeast Asia. Hamlet Protein recently renewed its partnership with the distributor to bolster its presence in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Micah Boysel has been promoted to central district manager – North America at trace mineral company, Zinpro Corporation. In his new role, Boysel will be responsible for leading and managing the company’s US and Canada central district sales teams, with an all species focus. 

Boysel joined Zinpro in 2007 as Central Midwest account manager, building the company’s business across Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. In 2018, he became key account manager for North America and, in 2019, took on an enterprise account manager role. Matt Douglas, regional business enterprise leader, North America, Zinpro, said that, in addition to his leadership and sales knowledge, Boysel brings extensive on-farm, technical and industry experience.
