International livestock and animal feed trade fair, EuroTier, which was scheduled to take place at the exhibition grounds in Hanover from November 17-20, 2020, will now take place early next year.

DLG, the organizing body behind the show, and another event run in parallel, Energy Decentral, cited as the reason for the delay to proceedings the fact the coronavirus pandemic continues to cause international uncertainty.

“Given these circumstances, DLG assumes that it will not be possible to organize EuroTier and EnergyDecentral in a form that is appropriate for such leading international trade fairs for exhibitors and visitors this year. The new dates for the exhibitions are February 9-12, 2021.”

This decision to postpone EuroTier and EnergyDecentral has been taken in close coordination with the trade fairs' expert advisory boards for both fairs, said DLG.

“The postponement of EuroTier and EnergyDecentral has been a difficult decision. The international nature of both exhibitions, for both exhibitors and visitors, is precisely what makes the events the global meeting point for experts and decision-makers. These two trade fairs are the meeting place for the entire industry,” said Dr Reinhard Grandke, CEO, DLG.

French trade show cancelled

The outbreak also caused the cancellation of French trade show, SPACE, this year, which was set to take place from September 15-18 2020 at the Rennes Exhibition Centre in France.

“Given the uncertain situation and the state of health emergency that has now been extended for several more months, we believed it was important to take this decision earlier than initially intended. The infection control measures will most likely still be required in September, and it would be nearly impossible to strictly comply with these measures at SPACE, due to the large numbers of people at the Expo,” said the organizers last month.

SPACE brings considerable economic benefits for that region of France, estimated at €91m in local economic activity, said the team behind the expo. The next instalment of the trade show will be September 14-17, 2021.

Asian event delayed

In April, the management teams from the VICTAM Corporation and VIV worldwide reported that the VICTAM and Animal Health and Nutrition Asia trade show in Bangkok, originally proposed for March this year, would be postponed to January 18-20, 2022.

“We have been monitoring the situation of COVID-19 on a daily basis hoping the situation would be stabilized. However, since our last postponement, COVID-19 is still disrupting the business around the world.”

So they concluded that exhibiting at a trade show was not their clients’ priority right now. “Postponing the event entirely to January 2022 would give all stakeholders room to breathe and pay attention to other vital issues. We believe it is the right decision to hold on and come back even stronger together in 2022.”

The event will take place at the same venue, the BITEC in Bangkok.
