New fish nutrition business lead at Cargill

Cargill has named Helene Ziv-Douki as president of Cargill’s aqua nutrition business, effective immediately.

She joined Cargill in 2003, and takes over from Pilar Cruz in the fish feed division. 

Cruz has recently been promoted to chief sustainability officer at Cargill, the company's first such officer. 

“Helene’s success during her more than 20-year career reflects her approach as a builder of multicultural, diverse teams and talent, her customer focus, and her passion for excellence and innovation,” said Ruth Kimmelshue, global lead for Cargill’s animal nutrition and health enterprise. “She brings a passion for sustainability and the aqua and seafood industry, with unique capabilities and perspectives that will help our aqua nutrition team advance its business objectives and deliver for our customers.”

Ziv-Douki first joined the animal nutrition and health team in 2017 as the risk management and sourcing director for the company’s aqua nutrition business.

It was in this role that Helene had the opportunity to interact with aqua nutrition teams around the world, gain a deep understanding of the business, and provide innovative solutions to Cargill’s aqua nutrition customers, including creating a market-leading partnership with the insect industry, said the company.

Adisseo hires new country manager in Canada

Adisseo North America is announcing key upcoming organizational changes within its commercial organization.

André Gilbert, current Canadian country manager, has announced his intention to retire in 2021 after nearly 24 years of working with Adisseo, while Heather Copland has joined the company and will take over that role from Gilbert. 

Copland has been an independent business management consultant for the last few years, previously, she was general manager at Grober Nutrition. She is located in Guelph, Ontario. Adisseo said she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the animal nutrition sector to the role. 

She will be reporting to Jeremy Painter, general manager, Adisseo North America, and will be working alongside Gilbert for the next few months, ahead of taking on full responsibility for the Canadian business.

National Grain and Feed Association chair re-elected
National Grain and Feed Association chair re-elected (Mark Simons)

The US National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) announced at the end of March that its members re-elected JoAnn Brouillette [pictured], president and managing partner of Demeter LP, as NGFA chairman. 

Beyond Brouillette, other industry officers who were re-elected to serve one-year terms include:

Greg Beck as NGFA first vice chairman. He is senior VP, Grain Division, CGB Enterprises, and Chris Boerm, as NGFA second vice chairman. He is president, global transportation, ADM.

New directors were elected to serve three-year terms on NGFA’s board. They include the following:

Matt Ashton, CEO, New Vision Cooperative.

Augusto Bassanini, CEO, United Grain Corp.

Gary Beachner, CEO, Beachner Grain Inc.

Jeff Bechard, senior VP, grain, Central Valley Ag.

ForFarmers continues expansion of UK poultry team
ForFarmers continues expansion of UK poultry team

ForFarmers UK has recruited James Atrill as poultry account manager. This is an additional hire to the extensive recruitment the company undertook to expand its UK poultry team in 2020.

He will work with layer farmers in the Midlands and Northern England.

David Hilldrith, UK poultry director, ForFarmers, said Atrill has worked in the industry for over 20 years, where has has held numerous successful roles. "With his knowledge of the Midlands and Northern customer base, we are confident that he will be a great asset to the team.” 

Arm & Hammer extends swine sales team in the US
Arm & Hammer extends swine sales team in the US

Andy Wuethrich joins US company, Arm & Hammer, as a swine account manager in its animal and food production division.

The company said Wuethrich brings 17 years of swine sales experience to this role. In this position, he will collaborate with the field sales and research teams to help customers improve their swine productivity and performance, he will also oversee sales and support for swine accounts throughout the Midwest.

Prior to joining ARM & HAMMER, Wuethrich was a swine key account manager at Biomin America.

He has a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Purdue University.

The board of directors of CCPA, a union of French cooperatives specialized in animal nutrition, has appointed Olivier Poli as the group’s new general manager.

He assumed his duties at the beginning of this month.

Poli has extensive experience in the field of animal nutrition, with 23 years’ experience at the Roullier Group. After seven years in that group’s packaging division (Agriplas), he joined its food phosphates unit in 2004, being promoted to general manager of the unit two years later. For 12 years, he ran TIMAB Phosphates, which became Phosphea in 2016, helping it to become a world leader in mineral raw materials intended for the animal nutrition industry. He was also a member of the Roullier Group’s executive and strategic committees for several years as well as its strategic director of human resources.

Expert in poultry genetics and production analysis joins Amlan

Amlan International, a supplier of mineral-based feed additives, has named Jay Hughes as regional technical service manager for North America.

"With Jay’s incredible experience in poultry genetics and production analysis, he will serve as a valuable team member in North America and help ensure we are meeting consumer demand for high-quality animal protein,” says Heath Wessels, director of dales, North America.

Most recently, Hughes worked for an agriculture analytics company where he managed relationships with customers and analyzed market perspectives. 

Previously, he was global manager of product testing for animal health company, Cobb-Vantress Inc, where he managed the global testing program on multiple continents and analyzed data for sales and technical teams worldwide. He also worked with the R&D team to keep updated on trends, track commercial performance, and manage other special projects. 

Hughes has a bachelor’s degree in poultry science from the University of Georgia and a master’s in genetics and animal breeding from the University of Arkansas.

Animine looks to consolidate its presence in Latin America

Animine, a French supplier of precision minerals for animal nutrition, says José Ramon Perez H has joined its commercial team in Latin America.

A graduate of veterinary medicine from the Autonomous University of Querétaro in Mexico, he has 27 years of technical commercial experience in animal nutrition and in the additives sector, said the company.

In his new role, he will be in charge of setting up commercial networks with different clients in various Latin American markets.
