Piet Hilarides set to replace Dick Hordijk as CEO of Agrifirm
Netherlands based animal feed and agribusiness group, Agrifirm, has announced a successor to its current CEO, Dick Hordijk.

Piet Hilarides will become the company’s new chief executive officer, effective December 2024.

Hordijk will step down on January 1, 2025, after serving eight years in the role, as reported earlier this year.

Hilarides brings over 20 years of experience in cooperative and non-cooperative environments within the agro and food industries. His leadership background, which includes 23 years at FrieslandCampina as a business group director and executive board member, positions him well to guide Agrifirm through the next phase of its strategic plan, according to Agrifirm’s supervisory board

The group expects Hilarides to effectively engage with both members and customers, focusing on the needs of farmers and the broader sector.

Hilarides will work closely with CFO Stefan Bulthuis as Agrifirm seeks to strengthen its position in both domestic and international markets. His previous leadership roles include a stint at Perfetti Van Melle’s Asia business group and most recently as CEO of Baladna, a dairy company in Qatar.

Asian appointment

In April, Agrifirm also appointed Doris Yu as Managing Director of its Asia division.

Yu, with over 20 years of experience in the food and agriculture industry, has held senior positions at Cargill, dsm-firmenich, and Yara International.

China remains Agrifirm's largest market in the Asian region.
